Dropzone Opening Times
Netheravon is now open for jumping on Wednesday afternoons and Fridays from 10pm. It's time to crack out the barbecue and celebrate some 3 day jumping weekends (4 when it's a bank holiday!)
Competitions and Training
The committee has decided that it's time we started taking the competitive side of the sport seriously within the Club. Our primary goal is to turn new students into qualified skydivers. However, we now have a growing contingent of the club who are able to compete against the other Universities in the UK in disciplines such as Formation Skydiving (FS) and Accuracy.
The BCPA league runs a monthly FS competition and Universities can enter multiple teams each month. The competition is in the form of 3-way FS with a randomly drawn dive pool (More info here: http://www.ukskydiver.co.uk/cms/index.php?/topic/16853-bcpa-university-l...)
Our aim is to form an A and B team who will endeavour to enter the competition every month. This, combined with individual efforts in Accuracy at regional BCPA events, should see us place well in the BCPA league.
The best place for us to select and train our teams is in the tunnel. We are therefore going to be running tunnel training trips every other month. The tunnel is also a great place for students to train their individual flying ability in order to fast track their progression in the sky.
