FAQ's

Please find the answers to some of the questions we have been asked about the RAG Charity Skydive event here. If you have any other questions please feel free to contact us.

This depends on if you are doing a tandem skydive or the solo static line course. At least £65 from each tandem skydive is being donated to the nominated RAG charities, and a minimum of £100 from each person on the solo static line course goes to the RAG charities. Some other charity organisations make people raise double the cost of the jump, however we have decided not to set the target for sponsorship too high as we didn't want to put people off taking part. REMEMBER - if you raise more than £250 more money will go to the charities!
It's taking place at our normal dropzone, the Joint Service Parachute Centre (JSPC) Netheravon. During the week the dropzone is an active military base, but it is open to civilians at the weekend under the operation of the Army Parachute Association. The dropzone is located in the village of Netheravon, near Salisbury. If you wish to make your own way to the dropzone for the event please contact us for directions. PLEASE NOTE - you will require either a passport or driving licence as identification to get on to the dropzone.

Yes, you are allowed to bring spectators along to watch. We should be able to provide transport for spectators at a small cost. More details about this will be announced closer to the event. PLEASE NOTE - any spectators will also require either a passport or driving licence as identification to get on to the dropzone.

Yes, for both the tandem skydive and the solo static line course there is a weight limit of 15 and a half stone. It may be possible to be slightly over this for the tandem skydive, but please contact us as special arrangements need to made with the dropzone in this case.

Please look at the declarations of fitness to parachute for the specific type of jump you are looking at doing, which can be found in the documents section of the website. PLEASE NOTE - If you are under the age of 40 you can sign the from yourself, however anyone over the age of 40 must get their doctor to sign the form.

The cost of the jump includes British Parachute Association third party insurance; however it does not include personal accident insurance. The University of Portsmouth Students’ Union is now making it compulsory for everyone taking part in the RAG Charity Skydive event to take out personal accident insurance with Extreme Plus specialist sports insurers at a cost of £20, which we will arrange on your behalf, but unfortunately you will have to pay for yourself.
