Your first jump will be from 3,500 feet, with a
static line connected to the plane, which will open your
parachute for you as soon as you leave the aircraft. Once your canopy has
opened (which takes about 4 seconds), you will have complete control to
steer it down for a safe, soft landing, under the guidance of an instructor talking you down over a radio mounted on your helmet.
The training course will take place over the weekend of the 15th/16th of May 2010; traveling to the dropzone on the Friday evening (14th May 2010). The training will take place on Saturday, and you'll get to jump on Sunday!
This course gives you the opportunity to progress with skydiving, and you could become a qualified skydive in as little as 18 jumps! Click here to view the progression system...
To sign up to the solo static line course please e-mail rag@upsu.net stating that you would like to do the solo static line course, and also if you require transport to the dropzone or wish to make your own way there.
